Logos, or the logic of the cartoon, is that the economy in our country is on a downward spiral. Unemployment is up considerably, and it is becoming more and more difficult for the average “Joe” to make ends meet. Pathos is shown by the desperation of the soldier in going to war because he can not get a job, desperation and frustration being the emotions. Ethos, or credibility, is implied because of recent statistics showing the economic downturn of the country. The cartoonist is also taking a stab at Bush in showing that people are frustrated with both the war and the economy, and is voicing his opinion on the matter.
